How do I search for a watch on Chrono24?

Conveniently find your dream watch on Chrono24 via the search bar. The search results page also offers various filter options.

Search bar
The search bar is the easiest and fastest way. Search terms are automatically updated and completed as you type.

Search results page
The search results page offers various filter options. Filter according to manufacturer, model, reference, or availability, for example. The search results list can also be sorted by relevance, price or posting date.

By clicking on Save this search, you can create an search query in order to be notified of new offers by e-mail. Your selected filter will be automatically saved.

How do I filter search results for specific offers?

After having searched for a product via the search bar, you can further refine the search results by using the filter of the results list. Filter according to manufacturer, model, condition, or material, for example. Click on more to show additional filter options. You can select multiple values for a filter at the same time. To disable a filter, simply remove the checkmark.

Customize the sorting of results via the selection box at the top right of the list. Select from among price, posting date and relevance. You can change the default sorting via Settings in your ChronoWatches area.

Shipping

How soon is the item available?

Items available via Trusted Checkout are typically available immediately or on short notice. You can find more exact information on the individual offer pages.

How long does delivery take and how much does shipping cost?

Purchase request
After you've made a purchase request, the dealer will send you an offer including delivery time and shipping costs.

Buy It Now
Offers available for Buy It Now will include the availability and shipping costs on the offer page.

Warranty

Do I have any special guarantee or warranty when buying via Trusted Checkout?
Trusted Checkout warranty conditions are in accordance with the law. An extended warranty is not provided.

Returns

What must I do if I want to return an item?

Purchases via Trusted Checkout: To take advantage of your 14-day right of return, please contact our support team via phone (+852 3709 0790) or email (withdraw@chronowatches.com) within 14 days of receiving the item. We will document and confirm your wish to return the item and guide you through the next steps.

If you paid the sales price directly to the dealer or private seller, please contact them regarding a return. Please note that there are no laws regulating the right of return for purchases made from private sellers.

Who pays the return shipping costs?
You are responsible for the cost of the return shipment. Please note that it can cost up to 250 euros to ship a return item due to insurance coverage.

Buying watches

I want to buy a specific watch. How do I proceed?

There are two ways to buy a watch on ChronoWatches:

Payment via ChronoWatches:
Many offers allow you to order the watch directly via ChronoWatches. Your payment goes to an escrow account, where it remains safely until you have the watch in your hands. The ChronoWatches team is always available to help ensure your purchase runs smoothly. To buy a watch via ChronoWatches, click on the green "Buy" button.

Contact the seller directly:
If the seller doesn't offer payment via ChronoWatches, you should contact them via the contact form (by clicking on the button "Contact seller") or by telephone. You can then agree on payment and shipping directly with the seller.

Who is my contract partner when buying a watch?

Your contract partner is always the respective dealer or private seller. When you choose to pay via ChronoWatches, you will be shown the terms of sale during the sales process. If you decide to buy the watch directly from the dealer, please take note of the dealer's terms and conditions.

What should I keep in mind when buying from a private seller?

If you want to buy from a private seller, the Escrow Service on ChronoWatches is the safest way to pay. Your payment goes to an escrow account, where it remains safely until you have the watch in your hands. The ChronoWatches team is always available to help in case something doesn't go as planned.

If the private seller doesn't offer the Escrow Service on ChronoWatches as a payment method, we suggest you meet the seller in person at a safe location. Meeting at an established watch dealer's shop where the watch can be immediately checked is the safest method. Other alternatives are payment via PayPal or using an external escrow service. Please note that only private sellers who offer the Escrow Service on ChronoWatches as a payment method can be reviewed by us. Please review the offer and conditions carefully before buying a watch from a private seller.

Selling watches privately on ChronoWatches

How can I create an ad for a watch?

Create an ad for your watch in just a few steps using our Ad Assistant:

  1. Describe your watch in detail. The more detailed the description, the easier it is for potential buyers to find your ad.
  2. Add up to 4 images of the watch taken from different angles. Keep your camera handy. Later you'll be asked to take 2 additional pictures of the watch set to specific times and to upload them as proof of ownership. These pictures are displayed in your ad.
  3. Register as a private seller and submit your bank account information so that your money can be transferred directly into your account.
How much does an ad cost and what are the payment methods available?
We charge a fee of 4.5% of the listing price for private watch ads. There is a minimum charge of 5 USD and a maximum charge of 299 USD per ad, regardless of the listing price. If your watch doesn't sell within 6 months, we will fully reimburse you the fee. You can pay this ad fee via PayPal, credit card, or bank transfer. Last updated 10/2015.

How do I edit or delete my private listing?

You can edit or delete your private ads in your myChronoWatches area under "Ads" by clicking here. If you'd like to change the price, brand, or model, please contact PrivateSeller@chronowatches.com. Please note that once you delete your ad, it cannot be reactivated.

Selling watches commercially

How do I register as a commercial dealer?
You can register as a commercial dealer on ChronoWatches in only a few steps:
  1. Enter personal information
  2. Store payment details (credit card or, in Germany, also SEPA direct debit)
  3. Submit verification documents
Then you can already upload your first offers. Before your offers are published, your dealer account must first be activated by ChronoWatches. Please note that activation takes place only after your information and documents have been checked. To do so, we require copies of the following documents, sent either by document upload, e-mail, fax or mail:
  • Certificate of registration in the commercial register or business registration
  • Proof of address in the form of a phone bill, electricity bill, etc.

What are the pricing models for commercial dealers?

ChronoWatches offers different packages for different needs. The packages differ (among other things) in the number of offers and the images per offer. The pricing models also affect the positioning in the search results list and the TOP offers on the ChronoWatches homepage. You can either pay monthly or for a year in advance. What is Chrono24's Buyer Protection?

With ChronoWatches's Buyer Protection, you're protected as soon as you place your order. In the rare case that something doesn't go as planned, you can rely on our Support Team. We'll help you find a satisfactory solution together with the dealer.Simply contact us within 14 days of receiving your order.

When does Chrono24's Buyer Protection apply?

You can use ChronoWatches's Buyer Protection if you purchased a watch from a dealer on ChronoWatches. The order must have been formally submitted via the ChronoWatches system. The Buyer Protection does not apply to purchases that were arranged and completed directly with the dealer (e.g., via phone, email, messenger, or personally).

Trusted Checkout offers are marked in both the search results list and offer pages with a green Trusted Checkout symbol.
Do I need to register with Chrono24 before making a purchase?
Yes. This way, we can best assist you if you have any questions and inform you about your order status.

Checkout Payment

How can I pay for an item?

You can pay with a credit card (VISA or Mastercard) or via bank transfer. The available payment methods are listed on the offer page.

We work together with the payment service provider Mangopay to process your payment. Mangopay is a payment service provider that specializes in online marketplaces and is associated with the French bank Crédit Mutuel Arkéa.

Payment via Affirm

How do I purchase an item on Chrono1 using Affirm?

If you would like to finance an item using Affirm, the purchase will be processed via Trusted Checkout. In this case, Affirm pays the amount due into an escrow account, where it is kept safe until you receive your item.

To make a purchase, click on the green "Buy" button on the offer page and then choose Affirm as your payment method.
